Hi there! My name is Jennifer and I am the owner and photographer of Little Pink Bows Photography. I picked up my first “professional” camera back in 2016, shortly after the birth of my daughter. I have always had an interest in photography and with a couple of photography classes taken in college under my belt; I was determined to take some great photos of my daughter. Was I any good? Nope, not even close. As a new mother, I wanted to share the experience with our families who all live out of state. Picking up the camera so frequently led to the passion I have in photography, newborn photography specifically.

As a newborn photographer, you would be right in thinking I have a rather bias view of the importance of newborn photography but as a mother I cannot justify enough just how important it is.  Your baby will only be this little for a short time, newborn's change dramatically with each passing day.  As you settle in at home with your new bundle of joy, remember this time flies by so quickly. Why not capture it with a newborn photography session?

Newborn photography is an exciting and new trend, that is becoming more and more popular- and rightfully so. Newborn photography is a fascinating adventure that every parent should take part in.

What to expect from a newborn photo shoot? Firstly, you should book your newborn photographer while you are still expecting, the sooner the better to guarantee a photo shoot while you baby is still a newborn. To get the best results from a newborn session, you should try to book before the baby is 14 days old, as this is when your newborn baby is still sleepy and is easier to pose for those beautiful shots we all love. Newborn shoots are baby led and therefore are usually lengthy. The average newborn session can take anywhere from 2-4 hours depending on the type of session and cooperation of baby. This time allows for feedings and comforting to ensure you baby is always safe and happy.

Let's talk about the main reason some parents choose not to capture those amazing moments in the first few days of that baby’s life, cost! Newborn photography sessions are costly! Depending on style, experience, training and education of the photographer, newborn photography sessions can range anywhere from $300 to thousands of dollars. Some parents may wonder whether it is worth investing in professionally captured moments of their child. These worries are valid; however, a veteran newborn photographer is priceless. Years down the road, you are going to look back at these photos and remember those first few days, the joy, and the happiness and of course, the sleepless nights that they brought and it is going to make you smile. I promise! People never realize how much of an impact professionally taken photos of their loved ones really are until it’s too late. Newborn photo sessions are an investment, these photos will be treasured for years to come and utilizing a professional photographer will guarantee custom artwork for your home.

I am a wife, mother and photographer who specializes in posed newborn photography. I am a New Englander and a diehard Patriots fan (Let’s go for #7), and have a studio in Woodbridge, VA. Throughout the years, I have learned from trial and error, workshops, mentoring, online classes, hands on courses and more. I have grown so much in the few years that I have been a photographer. That being said, I am a strong believer that one is never done learning and I strive to keep doing so.  I love photographing newborns and hope to do it for the rest of my life! With that being said, bring me your babies and let’s make some memories!
